Wow! She's an artist! I enjoy drawing as well. Better on paper than on the computer. Sort of. When I try to draw on the computer it comes out looking like a five year old did it, which is I prefer paper. Looks like I could use some lessons from your DD1! She did that so well! I'm afraid I'm not a Japanese cartoon watcher, so you may need to tell me who the characters are in the pictures. I love the cat creature...reminds me of Toothless from How to Train your Dragon!

They are her own original characters. She has been creating background stories and details about them and is now putting some of the scattered bits and pieces together into mini-scenes. My other, DD2 has created entire worlds in her head but does not tend to put them down in words or drawings as much as her sister. She has her own style when she draws, too.
I often think if they collaborated, they might come up with amazing results, but so far, their own individual characters and backgrounds and worlds take up all of their creative momentum, and they don’t seem to be in any hurry to try to integrate them. I tried suggesting they come up with something entirely new together, but .....
DD1 has a Wacom tablet, so not just mouse, but it’s not the latest pen-pressure sensitive one. DD2 has started to borrow it for her own drawings, so maybe?

That is really awesome! Your daughter does what I do: make up stories and characters in my mind,(mostly at night, it helps me sleep) wishing I could animate them and actually watch them. I love drawing, I just wish I could do it as good as your daughter is doing it. I don't own a tablet, so I guess that's my problem on drawing on the computer. I use the mouse and my ancient laptop and that's how it comes out looking immature, lol! Drawing on a tablet using a pen sounds way easier! I really love the cat creature she made!! Any future drawings she does, please share!

DD1’s new obsession is crocheting. She made me this ADORABLE mini fairy dragon.
She adapted and embellished from the original pattern so the li’l one is holding out a strawberry and the pose allows a pen to be held in readiness Ref: How to crochet a mini fairy dragon! - YouTube
