Re: Happy Holidays, Y'all!
Happy Holidays from usually cold and wet (which we are very thankful for) Southern California.

Downtown Spokane didn't have a lot of snow but it looked like winter yesterday afternoon.Taiji wrote:Taiji says ...
(I love Bing Crosby's rendition of Mele Kalikimaka)
Bing Crosby's family moved to the city when he was 3 years old. He might have graduated from Gonzaga University but left for California in his final year.
You can see one of the university buildings behind his childhood home. In fact, the house is now owned by the university and serves as the alumni office.
The steeples of St. Aloysius Church can be seen on the right. The church is only a block from his home and Bing was an altar boy there.

Happy Holidays from the rainy, windy Northwest!
I just read about the 7 year old New Jersey girl who called 911 when her elf-on-the-shelf fell off of the shelf. How cute. I love sweet innocence.
That story reminded me of when I was young and we (my friend and I) called the police because we thought there was a burglar in my brother's bedroom. We heard some rustling in his room. He was gone at the time, but I didn't know about his new dog. The police came and opened the bedroom door and out came the dog. It gave the police a good laugh. It was Christmas time because I remember the tree was up at the time.

Thank you Rainbow. Yes, that is an adobe arch with fireplace behind. Sad thing is, I hardly ever use the fireplace, I should. I built my house of adobe over a period of years. Taiji and I play this little game where I pretend to chase her and she runs up the wall to the top of the arch and says "ha ha, fooled you!" Yes, southwestern skies are so deep blue.
I knew Bing Crosby was from the northwest; I thought Washington. Amazing how even after all these years he's still there singing in all the stores when you go shopping at Christmas. He's my favorite guy singer.
Happy Holidays again!

Everybody in our group was sitting around in shorts and either a short sleeve button down or T-shirt this Christmas. It was in the low 80's and very humid. Heading into the New Year will have us with more appropriate weather for this time of year with highs in the low 50's and lows in the low 40's.
Felt silly to have to run the A/C for the better part of Christmas week.
