support for paperwhites
We went to the store because of the bad weather that is going to hit, and I looked for dowel rods to use for support when the Paperwhites and Amaryllis get tall enough that they need it. They are really shooting up and the Red Lion Amaryllis is too. The dowel rods were only $.49 each, and they are pretty long, if those flowers get that tall, hopefully it won't topple over.

Sounds like a plan. If the dowels are too long just cut them with your garden snips. I use old stockings and t-shirt strips for plant ties. Soft - won't damage the plant. I use a figure 8 pattern for the ties. I like using old stockings because they are not as obvious.
Ok - I am a southerner. I don't wear stocking during the summer but I do in the winter. At my age my legs just aren't what they used to be.

Do you think the pot I have them in will support them when they get taller? I was thinking of trying to find a clay pot or someother kind so they won't tip over. Would it hurt them to switch containers or should I just keep them the way they are? Or would it just be better to put that pot and plant and all in a bigger one?

IDK about disturbing your plants - I would not. Are those 6" plastic pots? If you want more stability maybe get some larger heavier pots - with good drainage. Put a layer of gravel on the botom - set your existing pots inside then fill around with gravel. It will add stability. If your pots are 6" figure 10" for the exterior pot. 2" on all sides.
Just winging it.

I measured my one paperwhite that I planted before any others and it is almost a foot tall! I also measured that icky white stuff that is falling right now and it is 2 inches so far and it is still coming down. Thank you for the compliment about my plants, it does not seem to matter if they have heat or not but they sure love the daylight, because yesterday was cloudy cold and rainy and today it is snowing,I put them on the puter desk last night because the wind was blowing the curtain where they were at and I was afraid it was too cold for them, but today I put them back in the window.
