what kind of tube lighting?

Hi all!
I want to use 4 foot shop lights for my seedlings this year. What type of tube bulb should I get and what specifications please? Thanks!!

I currently don't use lights, but if I did, I would use T5. 3 times the light output of T12 with about a 1/3 of energy consumption.

You will pay a little more upfront.

Hey man if you're just using them for seed starting I would look for at least 40 watt bulbs with a 6500k rating. Good luck

For starting seedlings just go to Walmart and pick up a T8 fixture. Get a couple of the "Cooler" bulbs for them (6500k/2700 lumens) and you'll be all set :)

Thanks all! I went to lowes and asked for t5 bulbs but they didn't have any hoods to put them in to hang above the seedlings. So I got 4 t8 daylight bulbs and two of these:

to hang above my seedlings. I think they will work good  I hope!
