Deer eating peas

Hi. My first post, my first question. I went out to my garden yesterday morning, and the deer had eaten my peas off short. I've heard lots of things that are supposed to keep them out, but does anyone have something that actually worked for them? I haven't had fresh peas in several years because of the deer, and I would really love to be able to grow them again.

Thank you for your answer. After reading the MSDS on this I don't think I want to use it on my vegetables. I'll remember it for ornamentals though.

Sorry about that! Wasn't really thinking last night; spring has taken it's toll (2 months of fourteen hour days will do that).

Try a cup of milk and an egg white mixed in a gallon of water; they do not like the smell of rotting protein (undetectable to us) and avoid areas that do. Easily washed away and harmless...

this might sound dumb but it does work... I am assuming you have fences or wires to hold your peas and in other areas of your garden. My hubby brought me a roll of bright yellow forestry ribbon the plastic kind, I tied them all over the place in four foot lengths. the wind constantly is moving them and they flutter and scare everything including robins away. I know farmers that use air guns and pesticides but I'm all organic and don't like noisy banging, its cheap too about 4 bucks and re usable. I also use green to tie my tomatoes as it does not cut the vines and is stretchy as they grow
