What kind of house plants?

I live in an apartment that doesn't get much sunlight through the windows (it sucks, I know) but I wanted to get some house plants to add a little green to the room. I know plants need sunlight to grow but are there any plants that would do okay in my apartment?

Oh, sure! There are many! Dieffenbachia, Peace Lily, African violets, Snake Plant, Devil's Ivy, certain species of palm trees, just to name a few. :)

Try spathiphylum (peace lily), spider plants, wandering jew, chinese evergreen, dumb cane, pothos, sanseveria, philodendron and monstera. Also almost any kind of dracaena should suit you. Ferns will probably thrive as well.

I have an african violet but there really isn't enough light in here even for that. The leaves are pointing straight up just about, which I heard is what it does when it needs light. I think my apartment is doomed forever as a dark place. I need to move.

I have pothos in my office & it grows like crazy. I also have a peace lily in our living room- which doesn't get direct sunlight & it's doing very well.

so, those two plants work :)

I tried growing Ivy in our living room, but it was too dry or something- it just died right away & I have no idea why. I heard they can be temperamental, so if you get one don't get upset if it doesn't work out :)
