ground ivey look alike

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone can shed light on a Glechoma hederacea (ground ivy) look-alike that had me fooled in New Orleans. This plant is erect, square stemmed, and has purple, mint-y looking flowers. However, the flowers have only three obvious petals and arise from clusters around the stem cupped by two clasping, opposite leaves, while the leaves toward the bottom of the plant are petiolate. The leaf borders are more irregularly crenate than ground ivy. I have looked at many different websites and cannot find it, but it grows all over the place around here. Any ideas or info on sites to check out? Thanks, Wendy
