has a list of edible flowers I did last spring with something about how they are used, etc.

The list includes anise hyssop, bee balm, carnations, day lilies, lavender, lilac, nasturtium, roses, violets.

For some reason on that list, I left off marigolds and squash blossoms which are also edible.

Don't forget elderberries.
Before the berries arrive, you have big gorgeous flowers, and many people like to use these to make pancakes.

I have a gallon frozen, I didn't blanch these, I just picked, washed separated the stems out and froze them.

I now have a seed request from them, how should I go about getting seeds, is just smashing the seeds good enough and wash then dry them? Or should I put the berries through a ferment?

Elderberries are basically shrubs, they get about 6' tall, there about. I make syrup out of the berries, and on pancakes, they taste very similar to blueberries. They aren't bad eaten straight, just takes for ever!

I have a elderberry tree out the back of my house, I tryed to make elderflower wine but was way way way to sweet! I did not like it, not a fan oh wine atall two be honest.
now elderflower pancakes hmmm that sound nice! how do u make them, I could collect till the day is done and there will still be more flowers on the tree to turn into berrys.

I can get alot of edibal flower seeds localy and wild so should be sorted for now, if I need any surten types I will make anouther post.

Don't forget Calendula petals-they are heavenly in salads. I prefer yellow ones to orange ones taste wise.

I always plant cockscombs, I think they are so pretty, as are most Celosia, and now, I can justify them for more than looks and bee food!
I have not tasted them, nor used them medicinally.
