ROSE BUSH IN WINTER

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF I SHOULD TRIM DOWN MY ROSE BUSH FOR THE WINTER. IF SO HOW FAR DOWN. ALSO I USE SOIL AND BARK MULCH TO PROTECT THE ROOTS IS THIS GOOD ENOUGH. THANK YOU

For the winter I prune to about two feet; just make sure branches don't rub or beat on each other in winter winds.

Soil is actually the best insulator in my mind; keep doing what you do...
