While this is annoyingly familiar, I am unable to put my finger on it. I'm sure I will be dissappointed in myself when I find out.

I'll let you know...

Well, I've racked my brain on this one and I can't tell you what it is either! :(
It certainly has a very distinctive shape, and should stand out right away to someone who knows it.
I did look at possibly a variety of the Ipomoea genus, but not sure on that. Some of the leaves on a couple of them look very similar. Maybe try looking up the genus Ipomoea and seeing if any of their leaves are the same.
Like Scott, I'm sure I've seen this one before, and am just drawing ablank!
I'll get back to you if it pops into to my head ..........

The annoying familiarity that I had put off was with pipevine (Aristolochia). I had my friend Tim(one of the best nurserymen I know) look at it, and while it stumped him, he said the same dang thing! So we THINK it might be a strange leaved sport of Aristolochia durior, an old favorite from Victorian days when they grew it on their porches for more shade. It's a native, so it could well just show up. But I am also haunted by the similarity to potato (Solanum). So I hate to call it anything yet. Let it flower and we'll have one more thing to go on! :?

A stumper for sure; I'll keep looking...

Gosh, I've seen it before enough that as soon as I saw it I knew what it smelled like - but can't for the life of me remember what it's called!

Sad, isn't it?

It started out just like it looks in the picture, although no flowers :?:

Thanks for putting your heads together all, I really appreciate it :D

I'm not so sure that's what it is. The color on your vine is a brighter green, and the shape of the leaf is a little different as well... And I think your leaves are larger than morning glory too.

Somebody here has to know what it is!

She's got it Grey, take a look at the picture I've attached - it's the one!
I just knew it was in the Ipomoea genus, but I could find the specific one!
Glad we finally solved that puzzle!!! Thanks so much NGT for letting us know you found it, otherwise we might still be wandering around out here in never never land!!!

Ipomea, that's it. Not potato, potato vine!

Good job NGT; answering your own questions, huh? :P
