Unknown Evergreen in South Carolina

Hi,

I was hoping someone on the forum could help us identify this beautiful evergreen:

It's growing in our neighbor's yard, but they don't know what it's called (planted several years ago...) and we'd like to get us one :)

Thnx in advance!

Can you take a small cutting of it to a local nursery for identification? If it's a native or regional plant, there's bound to be someone at the nursery who knows what it is; maybe they even have started plants for sale!

Let us know, too.

You are way outside of my familiar climatic zones but it looks like it could be Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Boulevard'. At least in Zones 5 & 6 I have never seen a handsome example of 'Boulevard' that has been in the ground for a decade or more. Perhaps in climates like the Pacific Northwest it may age more gracefully but in New England its pleasures are ephemeral.

It's pretty, I'd like to know what it is too.

I have a goup planting bonsai of those, they are a type of conifer called a Chamaecyparis pisifera, Boulevard Cypress. They look very nice but can be tricky to find. Good luck :)

I was just at lowes today and saw one of those and said what a cool looking evergreen it was.
