It will help to know where you are/the tree/shrub is located.

Are these photos what it looks like now? The leaves look very pale -- it that normal? Does it flower or fruit? Do you know approximately how old it is and how tall that is?

The more information you can provide, the easier it will be for people to identify it.

The tree is in a pot outside a shop. As far I know it's the trees natural colour and it doesn't fruit. It's about 3 metres tall. I don't know how old it is..
Any ideas ?

Thanks potatoes .. After your suggestion had a look at a bunch online but none seemed to match.. The leaves don't look like birch leaves.

Well, those pleated, opposite veined leaves and smooth-ish bark with bumps reminds me of my Arrowwood viburnum.... Could it be some kind of a viburnum? There are so many though.... :|

Can you stop in the shop and ask? Since it's still in a pot they might know what it is. It sure looks pretty.

Judge by the bark, can it be some kind of Cornus?
