Indoor spinach

I planted some spinach indoors.
This is the first time I saw something in the garden:

And this picture is 2 days later:
(it's blury, but there are 15 plants in there, and the one you can see is pretty tall.)

I also have 2 onions growing in cups. One in dirty water, the other in dirt. The one with water has roots spread out through the whole cup, but it isn't sprouting. The other one is sprouting.

Re: Indoor spinach

Looks like fun, but to be successful they need more light. They are already stretching.

Spinach needs bright light but they also need to stay cool or they will bolt.

The onions... Are they whole onions? Onion bottoms? Seeds? (I'm thinking not seeds)
Learning never ends because we can share what we've learned. And in sharing our collective experiences, we gain deeper understanding of what we learned.

They are little onions.

And thanks for the tip. I put tin foil around the back of the container.

This is the tinfoil I put around the spinach

These are poppies:
Will the poppies use all the nutrients in the soil? Should I pull out a few? Or are they fine?
