bought new roses...what do I do?
I am new to gardening, and have always wanted roses, so I bought some and planted them according to the instructions on the package. Basically, they look like twigs on the ground right now, but how long should I wait until they grow? The instructions said to cut off the ends, so I cut about 2-3 inches off. The box says they are Climbing Blaze. Any pointers you can give me?
Hello Morodiene,
Roses need rich soil and elements. By setting the right soil composition while you plant the rose is a very long run advantage. If you have not done that, not to worry, add some good top soil around the base of the rose, but not too near to their stem (about 30cm away). Mulching your rose not only cut down the trouble of watering often, prevent over watering, but also to engage the rose to extend their roots to reach for water:this promote resistance to drought and disease resistance. It provides the rose a cool base for stable growth. Below is a link for more information.

Hope it helps.
