Looking for sansho plant seeds

I had in my garden a wonderful sansho plant for about three years. growing well and I could use the fresh leaves many times in japanese cooking.
Now the sansho has died, last year and I cannot get another plant.
So, I am looking for seeds.... as many other people do. Anyone has a good suggestion? I am willing to pay of course. Young plants are welcome too!!

Re: Looking for sansho plant seeds

Rob, There are other plants that offer similar taste others the smell but none the feeling. It might be possible to get my hands on the seeds, I'll see, if so I will get contact you and send them. Meanwhile there may be someone on the form who has this plant growing and can come up with a few seeds. Sending a plant/tree would be a problem but seeds would be easy. Good luck with your quest.

You might post this in the seed sharing section of this forum.

Re: Looking for sansho plant seeds

Well rob no chance. I learned they forbid the entry of seeds that have not been roasted because of Citrus Canker. The restriction
has been lifted, but no one I know has the tree. I was given the that this is Prickly Ash and can be gotten form Tree Nurseries and they are not easy to start from seed. Hope you are able to find one.

Don't be a stranger, let us hear if you find one or viable seeds.

Re: Looking for sansho plant seeds

Hello Richard,

Thanks for your reply about the sansho seeds.
After a long time searching, I finally found no seeds, but plants.
I bought them from a nursey in the UK, Wales: crug-farm.co.uk
They could send the plants easily to The Netherlands where I live.
Seeds are nowhere to be found. Anyway, I am happy with the plants and they are doing very well.

rob.

That's great! I'm happy for you. Do you plant them outside? They are that Ash I have been told?
Hope you drop by now and then. I'd like to see where and how you keep them. Have a good day.

Richard
