Hurricane Sandy and Bulbs!?

Hello everyone,

I'm fairly new to tulips and I'm in the Boston MA area. I planted approx 175 bulbs in my garden about 2 weeks ago, and as you all know, hurricane Sandy hit this past weekend. We had about 3 days of more or less straight rain.

My bulbs are mostly planted in raised beds with a mix of miracle grow soil, manure, and compost.

Im wondering if the amount of rain will rot the bulbs? And is there anything i should do to the soil at this point?

Thanks that is great help and quite a relief. Any suggestions on a type of mulch?
