First time cabbage grower

I would like some advice on growing cabbages. I have a prepared raise bed. What sort of soil do they like?

Many thanks

They are pretty tolerant of sandy to loamy soil as long as it is rich and well-drained. They prefer just slightly acidic, but tolerate a pretty good range. Lots of critters love them, so be prepared to protect them.
