After surviving the great armywormpocalypse of 2012, which essentially destroyed many of the things i had tried to grow starting out with, i scrapped the garden and started anew with crops that would do better in the texas heat anyways.
I'm so excited that it's finally producing food! here are some pics, although a lot of them are sideways, but you get the point. thanks to all who offered helpful advice at the beginning of the season during what was an awfully discouraging start to veggie gardening!
eggplants goin crazy. i love the beautiful purple/white contrast. also, are the two big guys big enough to harvest, or should i expect them to grow a little more?
i also have two more plants that are really flowering, so hopefully i'll have more eggplants soon! I'm pretty sure one of the plants is of a different variety, but i forget which one.
second batch of hot peppers. sorry, ate the first batch
first round of bell peppers
beans, hopefully just a few more days away from being ready to enjoy!
one of my new favorite herbs, lemon balm. aka smellslikeheavenplant.
my crazy cherry tomato
ok and as sort of an afterthought, we just kind of stuck some corn and watermelon seeds into the ground to see if anything would grow. i guess i was only half expecting it to. i'll really be thrilled if we can harvest something from either of these!
