Help with plant selection

Mon Mar 28, 2005 7:48 pm

Hello all, I'm new here with this being my first post but here goes.
I live in Hagerstown Maryland which is zone 6. I'm in the begining stage of re-planting my front foundation shrubs and am having difficulty in choosing my plant material. The front of my house is a southern exposure. I'm planning on doing a two layered planting bed with Nandina "Firepower" in the front and something taller in the rear against the house. I had been thinking evergreens, maybe Holly's to anchor the house on each end with something else to fill the space between. Since it's full sun I'm trying to decide what looks good coupled with Holly's.
Any suggestions? Preferrably something thats not too leggy.
Thanks
dirtydigger
