fertilizer burn

I burned my lawn with nitogen. How long do I have to wait before overseeding? I have irrigation.

The time I did that, I watered and just waited for new green blades to appear. My understanding is that the excess fertilizer doesn't necessarily kill the roots, just the blades. I didn't overseed at all, as I recall, but it was many years ago. :)
