Bonsai Christmas tree

Hi all, i recently received a bonsai tree for christmas, and it's a christmas tree.

Ive been watering and taking care of it, but it looks like its slowing starting to die, it has been quite hot here an ive moved it inside as i thought the sun might have been roasting it a little.

I got no instructions with the gift and don't know what im doing, any help would be much appreciated as i don't want to see the little thing die.

Regards,

Eris

If at all possible, some pictures to help with the species identification would be nice. See here: https://www.helpfulgardener.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3557 It gives you instructions on how to post pictures on this forum.

just two things that come to mind... (I am sure others have more to say...)

- remove the moss and pebbles, so you can more accurately judge the trees need for water. - it isn't about how much you water but how often - usually pines don't like to be too wet. can't say if that applies for your exact species though.(check this link on bonsai watering)
- make sure the pot doesn't sit in water (looks like the blue tray it's on is wet....), so wait until the water stops dripping from the pot and then pour all excess off. you can also use some gravel to put a distance between the bottom of the pot and the water level in the dripping tray.

I'm not familiar with the plant life in Australia, but to me it looks like an outdoor tree. Perhaps setting it outside at some point would be good for it, unless it's really hot at the moment (I know that it's like summer there).
