Hello, Can anyone tell me if it is OK to trim carrots tops while they are still growing?

Why would you want to do that? Let them grow.

Yes it's fine as long as you don't go too crazy!

They are fantastic when cooked up tempura style.

Carrot tops usually have several branches. Mine seem to have about 10 branches. I sometimes cut 1 branch off and use it in salad. It does not seem to hurt the carrot.

trimming carrot tops

thanks for the response to my question. The reason I want to trim tops is because I mass plant. Lettuce, carrots, beets, onions, brussel sprouts, then squash on the fence. I do harvest the beet tops but am happy to hear I can actually eat the carrot tops. Thanks again.
