hi and help with germinating Baobab

Hi everyone

I am new here, and thought I would introduce myself and ask some advice please.

When we were on holiday in South Africa last Christmas I bought a bonsai Baobab tree - well the seeds anyway!!

The instructions say to soak with hot water and googling says to soak in boiling water and then allow to cool and then plant. After gemination etc etc you should do this that and the other

My two questions are prior to the germination -
one - do I need to scarify in anyway the seeds in addition to soaking and if so do I do this before or after soaking??
two - after sowing - do I need to cover the pot or allow air to it - I can't find this answer anywhere and would appreciate some help

Thanks in advance

First, I prefer to soak the seeds in warm water, not hot or boiling, as this could even kill the seed. Second, I do not think it is nessisary to scarify the seeds in any way, as I once killed all 12 of my Podocarpus seeds by doing so (scartifing allows fungi to more easily attack the seed). And, leave the geminated seeds uncovered. I have found this to work best.
