Cabbage peas

I am looking for white cabbage peas. I have been unable to find these peas for several years. Does anyone know the scientific name for these peas? A seed company said that they might be able to order the seed if they had a name other than the common name.
These are the best peas I have ever eaten and I can't understand why I can't find seed?

Hi Helen

Can't say I've ever heard of this but if we move this to the Veggie Forum we might have better luck...

Seems it isn't just a mystery to us either...

I found quite a few references to Conch peas, citing tenderness and flavor; they are also called cream peas. But no cabbages...

Hi. From the Google search where I found your question:

In the U-FL Vegetarian https://www.hos.ufl.edu/.../Vegetarian%201996%20Issue%2096-5.pdf dated Ma7 10, 1996, I wish I could copy off this pdf, under the heading Cream Group (Conch):

..Floricream, Sadandy, Cabbage (Bush White Acre), ...

So cabbage peas are also called Bush White Acre peas.

Complet url from the article:

https://www.hos.ufl.edu/vegetarian/Vegetarian%20Archive%201950-1999/Veg%20Archives%201950-1999%20PDF%20Files/Vegetarian%201996/Vegetarian%201996%20Issue%2096-5.pdf

To help you find the article, my search terms were conch peas.

Merry Christmas!
