Very Sad Skimmia

Could anyone tell me what I should do with a large Skimmia which looks sort of dead or dying. We moved it a couple of feet in the early spring and it doesn't seem happy about it at all. Should I just leave it and see what it does next spring or should I cut it all down. Don't really want to do that as Skimmia is so slow growing.
