blumming mammoth elephant ear

I was given a mammoth elephant ear bulb. I did not have time to plant it right away so I placed it in a flower pot (rooting bucket), next thing I know it has several large leaves on it and a beautiful yellow flower. I did not know they blummed. Is this normal, or should I take a picture to see what's up with it.

Normal that it bloomed? Perfectly normal. Indicates that you've kept it very happy.

Normal that it grew in a pot? They are often grow as container plants, even indoors, for their colorful foliage.

I would say you did quite well with the plant. :D

It would be lovely if you shared a picture of the plant with us. :)
