My girlfriend bought me a bonsai as a get well present . And I have no idea what kind it is... And now that I am getting better, my bonsai tree is looking worse and worse than the day she gave it to me ... So, first of all I need to know what kind of tree I have. Can anyone help me?

I can't tell very easily from the picture, but I'm thinking it might also be a Schefflera brassica. It not only seems to have the characteristic growth of one, but the only money trees I have ever seen come with the braided trunks. If you could get a close-up on one of the branches that might help. Regardless, bright light is probably best for now (if it is a schefflera it can tolerate low light, but better safe than sorry). I would also remove the moss, as this makes watering more difficult, and repot it into a container with drainage holes unless the pot its in already has them (if its a pot within a pot scenario, then usually the outside pot lacks the drainage holes, and therefore it should it should not be used).
