I took in all my crushed aluminum today and used that money to go one street after the metal recycling place to get 2 yards of screened Class A compost from the city's waste recycling center. How convenient is that?
I put down a few inches in my newer garden tilled it in than added to the rest of the garden carefully around all the plants and starters I have growing. I than added another couple inches on top of the freshly tilled part, Which I must say it 100% better than 3 month's ago being virgin grass and clay.
I will be going to get another 2 yards in late winter early spring to add to the whole garden and mix it up for spring. As some of you know I have only lived her for about 2 years so the garden is very new and started out with terrible soil. But it is getting much better. I have been amending all year I can't wait to see what it looks like after it overwinters, I guarantee it's gonna be some good stuff. Thanks for listen ing to my rant, later.
By the way this is some good stuff it was steaming up good when I got it. While unloading as well, steaming up good. You could feel the heat off of it. IT smelled like black gold baby, and only $26.50 for 2 yards. It's $30 for 1 yard at the nearest nursery and they probably get it from my place. If I keep adding I will be forced to make it a raised bed. But I already thought about that.
