vine weevils

help ! feeling happy,spring just round the corner,busy repotting using ,akadama when there they were the dreaded vine weevil ! ! ! ! ,fear is running through my viens,kept bonsai for 15yrs,never had them before,what can I do to get rid of them ?.As the roots have just been trimmed will a systemic weevil killer kill not only the grubs but also the bonsai ?

Not big on chemicals, so not sure about damage to newly pruned roots... :?

However, chemicals would not be my solution to this problem; I would use predatory nematodes instead. Found a UK site that supplies them...

Good for a long time, twice a year appplication is easy, ought to do the trick.

Handpicking the adults (wait until well after dark, when they come active) by flashlight can be very effective in cutting down population...
