naturally dwarfed trees

I am curious to see examples of natural dwarfs and their environments. here in Fl there is a tendency for trees to become smaller as one heads south. The mangroves are an exception, they become smaller further from the mainland progressing through the keys. In general, hardwoods tend to be smaller moving from north to south. I have seen some dwarf cypress trees in the Everglades. I am not certain how old some of these tiny trees are, but it seems that some of them are truly dwarfed and not just young trees.
