What IS this pepper???

I bought these from a big box, and they had a cubanelle pepper sticker in them. I wanted to get Anaheim, but they were supposedly out, so I got this one instead. I have noticed that it isn't nearly big enough to be a cubanelle, but neither does it seem wide enough to be an Anaheim. It is also too dark to be a banana pepper. I think it must have been mis ID'd at Home Depot. Can anyone help me out? I've been waiting and waiting, just hoping it would get bigger, but I'm not sure it's going to, so I need to find out when to pick them.

Looks like an Anaheim , I thought that soon as I seen it prior to reading.I could very easily be wrong,thats what it looks like though.
An Anaheim should be mid range heat ,one way to find out..yum yum..slurp :)

I probably won't be much help but my banana peppers look like that. Maybe they need more time???? :roll:

Well at least its producing something that maybe edible soon.

just out of interest - are the peppers supposed to be fruiting already? I have several planted a good while ago, they are huge plants but have no peppers, nither do my chillie plants.

My peppers have all fruited. the cubanelles were eaten over the last few weeks, but the poblanos still have some growing to do.

It looks like Anaheim. I don't think it is a banana pepper because they start out yellow not green. I have an Anaheim plant and it looks very similar to that pepper. I am getting a bunch of peppers this year, but then I have 30 plants :)

I posted that looked like my bananna plant but Brian you say they start out yellow? I guess mine may of been mismarked also. Got from the nursery and had bananna pepper tag in it. :roll: Mine looks alot like 1 in pic. so if it is Anaheim what kind of pepper is that? Hot.. Mild...? Thanks!

I picked one and tried it... they sort of taste like poblanos with a touch more heat. So I'm guessing an aneheim? It isn't quite as spicy of a pepper that I like, but it will definitely add some flavor.
