HOW TO COLLECT SEEDS.

oK FIRST OFF WE WILL START WITH A SIMPLE COLUMBINE , WHICH IS ONE OF THE EARLY BLOOMS HERE.

AFTER THEY ARE DONE BLOOMING, DO NOT CUT THE BUDS OFF.
LEAVE THEM ON TO DRY TO THEY ARE BROWN AND LOOKING DRY.

INSIDE THERE ARE SEEDS WHICH WILL TURN BLACK IF YOU CAN PICK THEM BEFORE THEY FALL OFF.

a TRICK THAT HELPS .. tIE A PLASTIC BAG AROUND A FEW AND LET THEM FALL INTO THAT.
MOST FLOWERS SEED AT DIFFERENT TIME.

TELL ME WHICH FLOWERS YOUR RAISING AND I CAN HELP. SHOW YOU PHOTOS OF SOME IN SEED WHEN THEY ARE READY..

I have a question about getting seeds from sunflowers. I read online that you're supposed to wait until the flower is dry, but does that mean the entire flower, or just the inside part? I've gotten some seeds from flowers that were completely brown all around, but also from some that broke off but were still green on the back of the flower, but completely dry on the inside. They all seem like they have kernels in them(with the exception of a few seeeds), but I'm not sure if they're good. I kept them seperate just in case.

I only have two mammoth sunflowers so I don't want to mess up harvesting them when they start drying.

I have a question too. I need to know how to save seeds from vegetables? I am currently looking to get seeds from the spinach plants.
