gud day!! I'm just new in here and would want to learn more on plants. My problem is I bought a ficus the saleslady told me its a golden ficus its about 3ft. tall.
I'm planning to put it in a corner outside the house. My problem is should I plant it on soil or put it in a pot?? the saleslady told me it wont grow taller so I can plant it directly. I'm a bit hesitant though I don't wanted it covering the front of the house after a few years,
what shoul I do then. Should I put it on a pot so it would maintain its height and will not grow in wild. helppp.....

I just did a quick search on google and as near as I could tell, Ficus trees can grow up to 10 feet tall. Though, by the looks of it; the average height is about 6-8 feet tall. As far as growing to cover your house front, you can ammend this by a yearly pruning.
I would actually recommend planting it in the soil rather than a pot simply because it will be more healthy for the tree, allowing it to spread it's roots in search of nutrients and water. In a pot, your tree is directly dependant on you to water and feed it. And if you forget to water (which people tend to do in the winter) it could very well die.
Much more forgiving if planted in the soil.

I just knew you weren't from North America! Something in the way you wrote didn't sound like it.
Definitely plant your ficus in the ground, not the pot. As Opa says, it will have a much better chance of surviving as it will be able to get more nutrients from the soil, and won't suffer if you forget to water it.
I don't think you need to worry about it taking over the front of your house, if it starts to get to big, prune it! Best of Luck!
