Does anyone know what the larger picture is? It just came up and it's growing so fast!

Yup that's what I was thinking too. It's hard to find pictures of peony plants, everyone wants to take pictures of the beautiful flowers, but here's a link to some pictures of peonies just coming up

I checked out that link and I am very impressed! I think they are awesome looking! :) Thanks!
Do they spread? I'm assuming they come up every year. I'm going to do some research online now :)

This is a favored plant in many perennial gardens as it is about the longest lasting perennial I know (up to 75 years old), so take care of them and you will have them a long time...

And don't freak out about ants climbing to the buds; they can't resist that sugary nectar, but do no harm and actually help with pollination sometimes...
