When to plant from seeds?

I live in Sacramento Ca. and want to plant my veg. garden from seeds should I start now or is this too late?

For some vegetables, it's exactly right; for others, it's still a bit early.

Sacramento is in Sunset Climate Zone 14. For more information on Zone 14, look for the Sunset Western Garden Book at your local library or local garden-supply store. It's an invaluable resource for gardening in the western United States & Canada and will help you select varieties/cultivars more likely to succeed in your specific zone, as well as their planting dates, water needs, soil requirements, and so on.
