Trimming back Peonies

We have a clump of about fiteen plants very close together. They are so heavy with blooms that they fall over. Can some plants be thinned out?

Selecting blooms will get you bigger flowers and make them less likely to flop, but there is nothing short of staking to really take care of that problem. I like peony hoops for each individual plant; works for me and I have lots. Division is a little tricky in peonies and is best left until fall at this point...

lar99 I would cut them down and when you see them start to come out of the ground id try a tomato cage or some wir and put it around as they grow
