I found this type design on another site and liked it. I modified it a little and I wish I had made it a little taller as I am having a little ant problem right now.

Here's some recent pics. Its too close to the ground and I have an ant problem that I'm not sure what to do about.

You could proably just pput it on some cinder blocks or something like that to raise it up a bit. As far as the ants if there isn't to many of them I wouldn't worry to much but if there it usually it's because it's dry. Plus putting it up a bit higher may fix your ant issue too.
Good luck and keep us up todate on how it all works out.

Thats what I'm planning to do with the blocks. There are a lot of ants in there but and I thought it was wet enough but maybe not. I haven't really read anything about composting yet. I just started throwing stuff in. I know that I'm supposed to have pretty equal parts brown and green and keep it moist and turn it once a day but thats about it.

STF, Good luck. Composting can easily become an addiction. It's kind of cool how you can throw in a wide variety of things and it usually comes out the same. Fresh dirt smell ready to add to you garden or yard or trees or all above. There is more then enough stuff out there on so many different types and ways to compost. After about a year or two you will start settling into the one that fits you best. The biggest thing is not to get discouraged when you read "you can make compost in 3 week" That's rarely the case. It all takes time. Some time it will be quick and others a long time.
