I found and killed one the other day. Today I find 4 on the ground and one hanging from a leaf.

Not good to kill things before you know what they are. Many insects are beneficial.

Caterpillars are the feeding phase of lepidopterans (moths and butterflies) chances are that it will eat a lot of your blackberry foliage. I do not recommned using any poisons but, pluck these guys off your plant and either squash them or move them somewhere else.
Looks like you have a bit of an infestation. So, leave a few (nature has a right to exist as well) but, remove most of them.

It was a bit of an infestation. I removed them all and tossed them over the fence(not my neighbors yard). There should be plenty of greens for them to chew on there. However, I am going to spray them to prevent future infestations.
Citrus trees attract all kinds of pests. Caterpillars were the main problem with them..but, it seems they've found something else to feed on. I also have peppers, tomatoes, herbs, berries, aloe, banana, and papaya, So, unfortunately I feel forced to use some kind of pesticide. I use dish soap w/ water for the vegetables and herbs..but, that doesn't do anything to protect my Citrus.
I tried "Organocide"(worked fairly well) for a while and am now trying a spray called "Citrus, Fruit & Nut Orchard Spray" made by Bonide. Both claim to be made from natural ingredients. I had used them only on my Citrus up to now..but, plan to spray it on my berries as well.
Do any of you have any positive or negative experiences with these products?.. any other products that you could recommend for fruit trees?
