Love it. Looks like the Pacific Northwest is where I need to go.

I like the wave one, you can see in the PNW we get tons of it in the winter and almost none in the summer.

Interesting, and seems accurate enough from my memory of living different areas. We have a curious thing in central Florida though, related to a Christmas freeze. If there is a new moon coinciding with Christmas, we are liable to have a freeze then. Apocryphal? Overall, January is the coldest month of winter throughout Florida. Doesn't mean we can't go surfing, though. And traditionally, New Years Day is the day to start tomato seeds indoors.

I thought it was Full Moons that foretell frosts.

But then again, people notice a full moon - if there is a clear sky, there are hours of bright moonlight throughout the night. If there is a clear night sky, temperatures drop  .

I had fun here, especially looking at "Total New Snow (in)" and pushing the forecast out 48 hours. ooo weee I don't think that this would be a good time for me to drive on over the hill into Montana.

Yeah, that was probably it. I never gave much credence to the moon phase and temperature thing. It just reminded me that sometimes at Christmas we would have serious cold temperatures, although coldest in my parts of Florida would usually be a few weeks later.
