gorgeous shrub

I picked up this gorgeous shrub at a 70% off sale a while ago. I didn't think that it was anything special. Well, I was wrong. Look at it now.
It's in the California Lilac family.

Wow, that's really beautiful! Is it easy to care for?
I'm going to show this to my wife!

Ceanothus 'Dark Star' (California Lilac) by Monrovia

Yes, I'd say it's easy to take care of. I neglect it and it gives me these breathtaking blooms. The blue color is hard to describe. I have never seen this color before on any other plant. It is a vibrant blue.

My weigela is not a nice bush. It has become leggy. It has just finished blooming. How do I trim this back?

The color of the blooms on that shrub is stunning! I'm sad it isn't hardy in my area.

You should probably start a new thread with your pruning question since it is unrelated to this post.

Its azure blue. It resembles the color of the sky. I have blue daze which is also has azure blue flowers. There aren't many plants that have true blue flowers.
