My aloe is droopy and browning...

My aloe has been drooping for a while, but recently it's turning brown and new leaves are thinning. I have no clue why. Recently I removed some roots that I suspected were rotted, and I think after that it started drooping. I desperately want to help it! I've had it for almost three years now and I've grown an attachment to it. I really want to save it!

Have you been watering it more lately? Sounds like root rot which happens when the soil is too wet.

succulents need well drained soil and no saucer filled with water under the pot.
