When to plant hybrid tea roses?

We recently bought a house, and I would like to get some hybrid tea roses growing. I am anticipating a challenge with getting them to grow and bloom, so I'm trying to get as much information as I can to do everything possible to ensure their success. We're planting in Kansas (zone 6), and I've heard multiple times for planting hybrids, early spring and fall. Is one better than the other? Are we too late in fall to plant for zone 6?

But, I know of some people who have planted them in other states Z6 successfully. Because of the vagaries of weather though, I would follow KSU's advice or the advice of a plant nursery where you live.

If you purchase your roses online from a reputable company, you will get grade 1 roses and they only ship when it is time to plant. In the meantime you can prepare the planting space to receive them.
