New at this please help!!

Hello all I bought this cute bonsai at Ikea. I have been just watering the soil every couple of days if I see the soil too dry. I just went to water it right now and saw white spot on the soil like mold. I am not sure what to do at this point. In the booklet that came with the bonsai it says it is a Ficus microcarpa Ginseng. Please help!!

Where are you located? Please put that information in your profile. If this plant is indoors, it maybe getting to much water. Check out the bonsai section on how to use the chopstick method to see if the plant needs water. White mold is usually fungus and usually because it is not drying out fast enough.

Mafer89,
Should I replace the soil??
Assuming a typical mass produced tree, mallsai as they are sometimes called, yes a soil change will almost certainly help but don't rush into anything.

Can you provide additional information regarding situation (indoor/outdoor), lighting, temperatures, etc?
