Sick trees? Sap bubbles?

I have these two trees in my back yard that are COVERED with these little bubbles of sap. They are dripping all over, the trees look pretty healthy other than the sap bubbles. I have no idea what type of tree's they are and/or if this is normal, but if it is a contagious thing I would like to stop it before it affects all my trees.

I also had a cherry tree that was dead when we moved in, the bark had little pin holes all over; I have a feeling it may be from the same thing.

Please Help! Is this normal? Is there something I can do to save them? Do I need to kill the trees before this spreads?

Tree's usually do that as a defence mechanism some just seem to leak the stuff, our Almond tree is forever dripping it all over the patio or it might just be a species that does that.

The tree doesn't appear to be having any ill effects. Other than the sap, it looks really healthy. I'd just keep an eye on it for now and see what happens. If the leaves start to change colour, then I'd get concerned.

I have been trying to identify all my fruit trees and come to find my pear tree and another tree that seems to be dying have the same sap issue....

I am getting a little nervous. Here is a horrible picture (sorry) of the tree that has some very dead limbs and the alive limbs bearing fruit are all prematurely droping fruit.

I believe the pictures above are a peach tree... my pear tree and this tree have the sap problem as well as the two I first found. The pear tree is the only one with an unhealthy look.

Something doesn't seem right. I agree with sean117Ply. Please consider calling your County Extension Office tomorrow. Ask for an e-mail address so that you can forward some of your photos to somebody to look at. You might want to stay on the phone with the person who is accepting your photos to make sure they get them and don't end up in some spam account. There is contact information at the site below. It looks very much like some type of scale insect damage. Do contact your extension service for help with this.

That's what it looked like to me too at first. When I saved one of her images and enlarged it, it got too grainy for me to get a take on anything other than that it didn't strike me as being scale any more when it was enlarged. I was going to ask her to take a few off of the trees and place them on a paper towel to cut them in half to tell us what she found but reconsidered on second thought... some people don't like to get that up-close and personal with their trees. Id' do it in a heartbeat but it makes some people uncomfortable when there might be something living in the bubble.

I went to my local nusery and they told me I have Scales and was advised to buy an oil based pest fighter spray.

I'm very curious to see how this works out.
