different plant
One of my neighbors gave me this plant and I have NO idea what it is. I was leaning towards Pothos but not sure, she sure has very wet soil in it, I am wondering if I should repot it in drier soil. Let me know if you know what it is.

I repotted the dumbcane plant, it is a slightly smaller pot with at least two drain holes, the other pot was too big and I had to punch a hole in the bottom, the saucer was molded onto the pot so it would not come off without damaging the pot, so I got some dry potting soil actually it was damp and put the plant in it. I put some water in the bowl under it and misted it because the web page I went to said it liked humidity and that is the only way it was going to get any. I read that they like low light so I have them beside the computer desk next to one of the flurescent lamps, it is getting a little light but not too much. Here is the new home, tell me what you think.

Diefs are not divas about humidity, commonly found inside dry places doing well. The bowl would be more likely to damage your plant than help it, whenever there is water in the bowl. The new setup with better holes for excess water to escape should be good though. Excess moisture can rot roots. Probably not possible for a Dief to be overwhelmed by light near the average window. Though not full sun plants, they're from Mexico, where the sun is exponentially more intense. Sending good vibes!!

After I repotted it I went to the bathroom and poured a cup of water in it and held the pot over the sink that way the excess water would pour out into the sink, I waited until it had stopped dripping and put it back in the bowl. I will let the plant dry some before watering it again. Does that sound right?
