Drive-by in the parsley patch?

There was a slumped over swallowtail caterpillar in the parsley today. This is the 2nd time I've noticed this. There are about 15 large containers of parsley so is a haven aka buffet for the butterflies. I try to remember where the various cats are, now have about 6 going in various stages. One seen slumped over a stem, that being lower than last seen yesterday.

I just spotted another cat, mid sized, barely hanging on, not looking good at all. I can't help but think it was the pounding rain yesterday. My area got well over 2" some in total downpours. Some things out there a bit beat up!
