Some of you may know that I'm a rookie gardener, my first season of real gardening.
I did so many things wrong, but fortunately, I'm too stubborn to let that deter me.
It has been extremely hot and humid here in west central Florida his summer.
Many things have failed and gone wrong for that reason and because of my own ignorance.
My sanity, however, has been held together by the mighty and durable pepper.
Jalapenos and banana peppers have been rock solid right through late June and all of July.
That success has spurred my confidence on and kept me motivated.
Awesome! I'm a rookie, too, experimenting with my first year in our house/yard. Bells worked out pretty well, and I have two container hot peppers (Apache and Cayennetta) that were very happy. I'll be doing more next year. Good for you for learning canning! I don't have the time/energy/space right now. I'll be freezing my pepper bounty, and with all the chili I make in the fall, they'll probably be gone by Christmas.
