Tomato Leaves Yellow and Brown

Hi All, new here and having some tomato plant problems! At first I thought this was a fungal problem, so I bought some fungicide, removed the affected leaves and treated. Unfortunately, this didn't seem to help at all. In fact, it seems to have progressed through 5 of my tomato plants. I did read that over-watering could have a similar look. In any event, don't want to lose the plants, any advise would be greatly appreciated! To clarify, I am in Georgia, northwest of Atlanta (Zone . *Photo here -

It looks like early blight and is common with overhead watering and during rainy weather. Mulching under tomatoes helps control weeds and prevents splashing. Make sure plants are spaced so they get enough air circulation and do not water overhead. Pick off lower leaves. If you have a problem with any disease you should not put the same plant or member of the same family in that spot for about three years.

Preventive fungicide program especially in rainy weather may be necessary.

Not over-watering, which might cause some yellowing, but not the brown spots and holes. Does look like some fungal disease. Over-watered plants would be wilty, which yours is not.

Thanks for the feedback, I have removed the affected leaves and used a fungicide on the plants. It seems I may have lost 1 - 2 of them, hopefully I can recover the rest. I'll look to get a soaker hose for future watering. I had heard mulching was a good idea, just wasn't sure what variety to use in the vegetable garden.

I mulch with wheat straw which is sold in bales. You can use wood chips but do not use super-black or super-red or any dyed mulch.

Fungicide is a preventative. You have to apply it every week or so.
