Doctor Frankenstein's Squasters

Friends of mine ? gave me some of their extra squash plants. 4 plants. I was told they should be High Carotene Zuchinni and Spaghetti squash. I think they are more like High Carotene Zuchetti or Spaginni. I may have as many as 20 fruits.

Here are some pictures

This one looks to have the shape of Spaghetti but the color of Zuchinni

She told me that this looks right for High Carotene Zuchinni. They apparently turn orange when mature

Are they supposed to get that big or did you feed them growth hormones?

If you call fresh air, sunshine, and years of soil building, growth hormones than yes. :)

Many zucchini varieties will get 2ft long and 4 or more inches diameter.

Have you tried them immature as summer squash?

Omigosh, zucchini here get to 30 inches long and 4 to 6 inches diameter. Pick em small for the tender frying kind. Pick em large for the zucchini milk for baking. Hey, even if they are crosses of some sort, they will be squash. Summer type squash should be picked when small for the best eating qualities. Some of the best tasting squash I have had were hybrids. My advice: Enjoy! Looks like you are going to be hard pressed to keep up with it. :)

Oh, you have never heard of zucchini milk?

You take the large zucchini and peel it and take out the seeds, then cube it and put it in the blender and liquify it into a milk. The zucchini milk is used for the liquid in all sorts of baking. Just substitute it for milk or water in your recipes.

Yes, I realize summer squash should be eaten young, but this High Carotene Zucchini I am told, is a storage squash. Vegetable Spaghetti also.

I've Googled High Carotene Zucchini and can't find it. They keep tell me it's not made up words and they bought the original seed. :? :?

Zucchini milk sounds interesting. Have you tried it with something as simple as baking powder biscuits?

Hey, all sorts of recipes on the web. Just Google "zucchini milk"

Lots of recipes call for shredded zucchini instead of the milk.

Zucchini is so prolific that people have long been seeking and inventing ways to use more of it.
