Mystery weed >> filaree

This is the second try. Though I had this saved as a draft. I have sent pics off to a university with no response.
This weed is in the yard here at work and in a co workers yard. It gets seeds on it that are about 1" long and thin like a needle with little hooks on them that stick in your shoes. They get a purple or pink flower on them. It is a perennial or Bi annual.

Can you send a picture of it still in the ground and a close up of the flower and seed pods. That way we can see its' form and how it grows.

For a plant to be identified, it is best to have a leaf (for form and shape) a flower, and a seed.

The closest I could get from your picture and description is possibly some form of filaree.

Solved!. I am glad you found it. I searched pictures and such on the net but could not find anything. It would be late summer before I could get you a pic of the plant in bloom.

Good. The UC davis is a very good site. UC and Clemson have weed identifying applications for the most common weeds.

I was just about to post a picture of the same weed! Thanks for the ID, now I will be ripping it out!
